What makes SAO TPAs better?
As Ohio’s workers’ compensation system continues to evolve, SAO’s members are better positioned than other TPAs to offer consultation, advice and assistance to employers and program sponsors. SAO’s members employ the expertise necessary to thoroughly evaluate and understand the full scope of programs now available to Ohio employers. SAO members dedicate our resources and expertise to making Ohio’s employers more competitive. We operate under the standards set forth in our bylaws, providing accurate and helpful information in our effort to best serve our customers.
Service Association of Ohio Code of Conduct
The SAO was established, in part, to promote, protect and improve the Administration and operation of Ohio’s workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, and employee benefits systems. The members of SAO created the following Code of Conduct in 2003. The Code of Conduct was created because members believe that self-regulation of their activities, consistent with applicable Federal and state laws, is the best way to ensure professional conduct throughout the industry.
1. Standards of Professional Conduct & Integrity
A member shall endeavor to establish and maintain standards of professional conduct and integrity in dealing with members of the public as well as with the Industrial Commission of Ohio, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, members of the Ohio bar, members of Ohio’s medical community, other SAO members, including their clients and employees.
2. False and Misleading Advertising is Prohibited
No member shall individually or through any officer, employee, agent or representative, publish or distribute, or cause to be published or distributed any advertising or promotional communication (whether direct mail, printed, e-mail, radio, television, billboard, display, or any other nature or medium) which is not truthful, or which is deceptive, misleading, inaccurate, defamatory, or materially false.
